Donald M. Husband (Doctor Don), age 75 of Colchester, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019, at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.  He was born October 19, 1944, in Colchester to Merle and Eva Martin Husband.  Don was united in marriage in Carthage, Illinois on August 16, 1962, to Judy Dailey.

Surviving to mourn his passing are his wife of 57 years, Judy Husband, 1 Son: Donald Martin (Lori) Husband Jr., Carthage, 5 Daughters:  Lora (Tim) Phelps, Colchester, Darcy (Todd) Deweese, Colchester,  Lisa (Chris) Dodds, Tennessee, Illinois, Patty (Chad) Eggers, Indiana, Wendy (Mark) Ayala, North Carolina, 19 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 3 Brothers: Richard (Dee) Husband, Arkansas, John (Karen) Husband, Macomb, Olin (Dorothy) Husband, Colchester, along with several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, 1 Granddaughter, Heather Husband, and 1 Brother, Bill Husband.

Don had been with the Local Labor Union 231 for 50 years.  He was the creator and head of Husband Family Racing, of Colchester,  member of the Colchester First Baptist Church, a past Alderman for the City of Colchester. His first job out of High School was a mechanic at Cross Motor Sales in Macomb.  He also sold fire alarms for NSA of which in 1976 he received top salesman in the country.  While Don and Judy lived in Arizona, Don was a Stunt Man in the Old Westerns and Old Western Shows in Old Tucson.  Don enjoyed racing his motorcycle, dragster, or stock car, if it had a motor and wheels he would race it.  He loved to watch Nascar and his favorite driver, Jimmy Johnson.  Don never met a stranger, he loved to visit with anyone he came across.  He especially loved to tell stories to who ever would listen.  Of all the things that Don did in his life the time spent with his family brought him the greatest joy.  The Lord helped Don find and connect to a daughter that he knew he had thru phone conversations and Facetime.  He couldn’t wait to meet her face to face.
