Dorothy ( Dotti ) Sue Pederson age 78 of Macomb, Illinois, passed away at 1:14 A.M. Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb. She was born to Guy Russell and Veda Lillian Langston of Grove Springs, Missouri, on December 19, 1932.
Dotti was united in marriage to Vernon C. Pederson on January 6, 1952 at Harrison, Ark. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1998. She was also preceded by her parents and 1 Son: Neil who passed away on May 21, 2006, 1 Sister; Mary Louise Smith of Nixa, Mo.. Her later years were enjoyed with a special friend, Paul B. Foster, he survives of Macomb.
Surviving to mourn her passing are 2 Sons; Eric (Tamara) of Turlock, CA. and Todd of Sacramento, CA., 2 Brothers; Carl Langston ( Ruth Ann ) of Search, Ark. and Bill ( Tama ) of Houston, Texas, 3 Nieces, Carolyn ( Gene ) of Aurora, MO. and Donna ( Clarence ) and Melody Esterline of Springfield, MO., 5 Nephews; Jim ( Karen ) of Nixa, MO., John ( Kathy ) of Hinton, OK., Morty and Lyndon ( Jennifer ) Houston, TX., and Douglas ( Paula ) Langston of Searcy, ARK..
In 1963 Venon and Dotti moved from Columbia, MO. to Macomb, Illinois were they lived most of their married life. She worked at various places in Macomb, was an active Real Estate Broker from 1975 to 1983. She was a part time instructor at Spoon River College and later worked for Western Illinois University retiring in 1995.
Cremation Rites have been accorded with Jones Mortuary in Colchester handling local arrangements. The Family will hold a private memorial service. and burial will be at a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Howard, South Dakota with the Willoughby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Tyler M. Martin - 25

United States Army Staff Sergeant Tyler M. Martin age 25 of Littleton and Colchester, Illinois, Passed away, July 12, 2011, in Germany. He was born August 13, 1985, in Macomb, Illinois.
Tyler is survived by his parents, Donella ( Nell ) and Jurl Southerland, of Littleton, Illinois, Mike and Marce McGovern, New London, Mo., Grandparents; Don and Pat Martin, Colchester, Jurl and Peggy Southerland, Littleton, Patricia McGovern, Quincy, Illinois, Don McGovern, Maquon, Illinois, 4 Brothers; Dowell Southerland, Justin and Erica McGovern, Cody McGovern, Dylan McGovern, 1 Niece; Alexandria McGovern, along with several Aunts and Uncles.
Tyler was a 2003 Rushville High School graduate. He entered the United States Army in 2004, He has served tours of duty in both, Iraq and Afghanistan. During his time in the military, Tyler traveled much of the world including 15 countries. One of his travel highlights was enjoying dinner on the top floor of the Eifel Tower. The Industry Assembly of God Church was his church home and in his younger years he was active in the Royal Rangers. Tyler loved to rodeo. He was an Alumni of the Illinois High School Rodeo, and competed in the National High School Rodeo in 2002 and 2003 in Bareback and Saddle Bronco. He had a great love of Animals. He also loved working, fixing and driving anything that had wheels and a motor. The thing Tyler loved the most was to make people smile.
Funeral Services for Tyler will be 9:00 A.M. Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester, with the Rev. Jon Keck officiating. Committal services following the funeral service, will be held at the Colchester Veterans Memorial, with Full Military Rites by the United States Army. Cremation rites will be accorded, following Committal services. Private burial of the ashes will take place, at a later time in Blackburn Cemetery, Brooklyn, Illinois. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the Funeral Home. Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home after 10:00 A.M. Ellen L. Bennett, 90 of Macomb, formerly of Tennessee and LaHarpe, passed away at 10:10 P.M. Monday, July 4, 2011, at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb. She was born March 25, 1921, in McDonough County, to Hollis and Hazel Foster Marlow. She was united in marriage on December 30, 1939 to Virgil W. Martin, he passed away June of 1981, she was then united in marriage on September 19, 1992 to Clair Bennett, he preceded her in death on May 31, 2009.
Ellen is survived by 4 Sons; Lloyd W. and Judy Martin, Larry W. and Sandra Martin, Robert L. and Linda Martin, Jack E. and Pat Martin, 1 Step Son; Donald Bennett, 13 GrandChildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren, 8 Step Grandchildren, and 16 Step Great Grandchildren, 3 Step Great Great Grandchildren, 3 Nieces; Dixie, Donna and Doris
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 2 Brothers; J. Edward Marlow and Donald Marlow.
Ellen was a member of the Argyle Bible Church, she had worked at the Colchester Sales Association Cafe from 1948 to 1962 and then in Building services at Western Illinois University from 1963 to 1980.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Jones Mortuary, in Colchester, with the Rev. Sam Kostreva, officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Terry was preceded in death by his father. Terry was a member of the Bushnell Nazarene Church. He was employed by the McDonough County Voice as a carrier.

   Nicholas Duane Thompson age 77 of Colchester, passed away 10:45 A.M. Friday, July 1, 2011, at his home in Colchester. He was born March 3, 1934, in Industry, Illinois, to Nick and Mary Long Thompson.
He was united in marriage to Patsy Thomas in 1953, she preceded him in death in 1957. He then was united in marriage on February 14, 1960, in Colchester, to Linda S. Creasey, she survives of Colchester. Also surviving to mourn his passing are 4 Sons; Mark and Becky Thompson, Macomb, Eric and Denise Thompson, LaHarpe, Kirk and Brenda Thompson, Good Hope, Troy and Heather Thompson, Bushnell, 1 Daughter: Tara Thompson, Blandinsville, 11 Grandchildren: Shaun and Leslie, Bart and Lacie, Mallory, Jennifer, Ashley, Cole, Brandon, Ryan, Hannah, Matthew and Alexiah, 1 Great Granddaughter; Charlotte, his loving dog; Pepper, 4 Sister In Laws; Sally, Penny, Chris, Marilyn and his Mother In Law; Elizabeth Creasey of Roseville.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and 1 Brother; Carl Thompson.
Nicholas was a member of the Colchester First Christian Church, Crooked Creek Tractor Club, Tri County Golf Club, and the National Rifle Association, He had been employed by the State of Illinois Highway Department, and then with N.T.N. Bower in Macomb for 27 years, Nicholas served his country in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester, Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday July 5, 2011, at the Jones Mortuary. Reverend Chris Cook will officiate. Burial will take place at Round Prairie Cemetery, Plymouth, with full Military Rites at the grave by the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion. Surviving to mourn her passing are 1 Son; David and Sharon Otey, of Fandon, 4 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Robert G. Zimmerman - 78

Robert G. Zimmerman, age 78 of Tampa, Fla., passed away June 10, 2011. He was born and raised in Macomb, Illinois. He was the loving father of Eric Zimmerman and his wife, Jeri-Lynne, of Tampa, Fla., Debra Cronin and her husband, Stephen Cronin, of Odessa, Fla, Proud grandpa of Grace and Emma Zimmerman, McKenzie and Ryan Cronin, and brother of Betty Griswold of Macomb. Memorial services were held on Saturday, June 18, in Tampa. He was a member of the 1950 graduating class of Macomb High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from July 1950 to July 1971. Robert will be remembered by all as one of the nicest, warmest, happiest, most unselfish, and genuine people they have ever known. He was born November 17, 1920, in Huntsville, Illinois to Ernest Larue and Anna Mae Roberts Fitzjarrald. He was united in marriage on October 22, 1943, in Tacoma, Washington to Leota Flo Phelps. Leota preceded him in death, on September 28, 2004, also Homer was preceded by his parents, 2 Brothers; Leeford and Warren Fitzjarrald and 1 Infant Sister.

Homer had been employed at King Seeley in Macomb for 35 years, he was a World War II Navy Veteran, Member of the the Macomb V.F.W., and Macomb American Legion.

Tena J. Carson age 52 of Colchester, went to be with her Lord, Monday, April 25, 2011, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. She was born November 2, 1958, in Avon, Illinois to Merle D. and Betty J. Louderback Wilson.
Tena was united in marriage to her beloved husband, on September 25, 1975 in Bushnell, Illinois to Allen L. Carson, who survives of Colchester. Also surviving to mourn her passing are 1 Daughter; Jennifer and Tom Chandler, Ft. Worth, Texas, 1 Grandson: Vince Michael Chandler, 2 Brothers: Tom and Bonnie Wilson, Colchester Mike and Belinda Wilson, Bushnell, Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins, and Marissa Muenier her little sister from the Big Brother and Big Sister Program.
Tena was preceded in death by her parents, 1 Sister; Brenda Powers and 1 Brother; Rusty Wilson.
Tena was very active in the Big Brother and Big Sister Program, she attended the Colchester First Christian Church, she had been a Girl Scout leader, active in all school events, sharing in her daughters life. She loved her friends and family, she spent many Sunday afternoons with her sister in law Bonnie Wilson visiting residents in all the local Nursing homes. Most of all Tena loved her Lord and Savior and witnessed to all she meet. Tena had worked along side her husband as the secretary, at there business Carson Satellite, in Colchester. She also was employed as the Manager of the Photo Lab at the Macomb, Wal-Mart.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 29, 2011, at the Colchester First Christian Church, with the Rev. Blake Chenoweth. Burial will take place following the services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. Visitation with the family will be 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at the Jones Mortuary, in Colchester. Friends may call at the funeral home after 8:00 A.M. thursday. Barrett on November 2, 1935, in Urbana, Illinois, he preceded her in death on June 14, 1972. Also preceding her were her parents, 2 Daughters; Kay Barrett, Janet Lee Barrett, 1 Brother; Keith Harry, 3 Sisters; Reva Belle Harry, Ruth McGaughey and Buna Elam.
Surviving to mourn Freda’s passing are 1 Son; Conrad Barrett, Pineville, Mo.,
4 Granddaughters; Tammy Polston, Cheri Maddox, Glena McGaughey, Brenda Barrett, and 1 Grandson; Robert McGaughey, several Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren, and 1 Niece; Cindy Moon
Freda was a lifetime resident of McDonough County and a Homemaker, she was a charter member of the Argyle Bible Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, she was also a member of Friends of Argyle.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 22, 2011, at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester, with the Rev. Larry Rickard officiant. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.
