Conrad Barrett age 76 of Pineville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017. He was born April 13, 1941 in Macomb, Illinois, to Charles Edward and Freda Fern Harry Barrett. He was united in marriage in Macomb Illinois to Roseanna Jane McGaughey, she preceded him in death on March 31, 1993. He was also preceded in death by his parents and Sister: Kay Barrett.
Surviving to mourn his passing are 2 Daughters: Tammy Polston, Fulton MO., Brenda Barrett, Arkansas City, Kansas, 2 Step Daughters: Cheri Maddox, Auxvasse, MO., Glenda McGaughey, Columbia, MO., 1 Step Son: Robert McGaughey, Jefferson City, MO., 1 Grandson: Travis Polston, 7 Step Grandchildren: Ronnie Kimbley, Heather Brady, Ashley McCulley, Jordon McGaughey, Robert E McGaughey, Brittany McGaughey, Thomas McGaughey, 1 Great Grandson: Conrad Polston and 10 Step Great Grandchildren, along with many cousins.
Conrad was retired from Morton Building Company of 30 plus years, where he was a master carpenter. He was a member of the Argyle Bible Church. He spent his free time hunting, fishing, always at his side was his dogs, that were the love of his life. He loved using his hands to build or fix anything that needed fixed. He lived his life with the thought he could find a use for anything. One of his projects was to cut down his own trees, mill the lumber, and build his home with the lumber.
Graveside services will be 11:30 A.M. Friday, June 30, 2017, at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester with Pastor Larry Rickard. Military services will be conducted at the grave by the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Norma Jean Wilson age 92 of Galva, Illinois, formerly of Colchester, passed away at her home in Galva, Monday, June 12, 2017, with her family at her side. She was born September 9, 1924 in Brooklyn, Illinois, to Ira and Mary Moore Arnold. Norma was united in marriage, November 3, 1948 in Blandinsville, Illinois to James Woody Wilson. He preceded her in death February, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 Brothers: Walter Arnold, Calvin Arnold, Jimmy Arnold, Jerry Arnold, 2 Sisters: Martha Willis, Mildred McMahan and 2 Grandchildren.

Norma was a member of the Colchester First Baptist Church, She had worked at the Blandinsville Nursing Home, Colchester Nursing Home, Hilton Nursing home in Colchester, She cared for elderly people in her home and helped her husband farm. She loved to quilt, gardening, cooking, and baking. She would share her harvest from her garden with many local friends and family. All of Norma’s quilts were hand quilted and she made sure to make a quilt for all of her family. She was a regular at many local farmers markets, where she would sell her baked goods along with what she grew out of her garden. Norma’s greatest love of all was when she could cook and baked for her family and have them all gather together.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester with Rev. Dennis Clements. Burial will follow the services at Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville. Robert Lynn Petty age 63 of Colchester, Illinois, passed away May 20, 2017 in his home in Colchester. He was born March 15, 1954 in Quincy, Illinois, to James and Mable Brown Petty. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Denver and Margie Petty.
Bob is survived by 2 Sons: James (Heather) Petty of Colchester, Illinois, and Shawn Hilton (Deb Clem) of Colchester, Illinois, 5 Grandsons: Riley, Denver, Dallas Petty, Logan and Xavier Hilton, 2 Granddaughters: Belle Petty and Joslyn Hilton. 1 Sister: Hope Clark of Macomb, Illinois, along with many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Aunt and uncle, 2 Brothers: Mike Petty, Ernie Petty, 2 Sisters: Donna Wardell and Marilyn Geremiah.
Bob was a 1972 graduate of Macomb High School. He had many jobs over the years with the last being a union painter at Western Illinois University. Bob had a rough exterior, but on the inside he had a heart of gold. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone out. Bob was very proud of his grandkids and loved them dearly. He made sure to stop by multiple time per day to see them.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 27, 2017, at LaHarpe Cemetery in LaHarpe, Illinois. Visitation with the family will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Nancy had worked at the Country Kitchen in Colchester, General Electric in Florida, Western Illinois University, and Sodexo at Western Illinois University. She loved fishing, dancing, cooking, flowers, ice cream, sewing, painting, playing card, doing puzzles, getting a pepsi with peanuts and taking a drive in the country, sitting on her porch with a fresh cup of coffee and enjoying listening to the birds and watching the animals in the early mourning or late evening. Her greatest joys came from her children. Spending time with them listening to Mark and Larry play music or laughing with the whole family. It didn’t matter to Nancy what they were doing as long as she had her family at her side.

Betty was united in marriage to Blondell Shoopman, in Kahoka, Missouri in 1941, he preceded her in death August 19, 2001, she was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Betty had worked at Mcdonough Telephone, Colchester State Bank and helped her husband on the family farm.

Edna L. Lotz age 82 of Colchester, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, at Bettendorf, Iowa. She was born February 17, 1935, in Mooresville, Indiana, to Vern and Eva Gibson Robinson. Edna was united in marriage in Macomb, Illinois in 1955, to Perry L. Lotz. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and 1 Sister: Margie Robinson.
Surviving to mourn her passing are 3 Sons: Thomas L. (Sandra) Lotz, Lynchberg, Virginia, Dean J. (Erin) Lotz, Pearl City, Illinois, Scott H. Lotz, Davenport, Iowa, 1 Daughter: Lucinda (Bill) Lenger, Coal Valley, Illinois, 8 Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild.
Edna was a graduate of Western High School in 1953. She went on to be ahead of her time, being the only girl in the Biology class at Western Illinois University, graduating with a Masters in Biology along with Physics, and Chemistry. She taught school at Bardolph, Cornell, Aledo, Beardstown and Industry. She was able to teach many students male and female that they could dream big in the sciences. She was a past member of the Aledo United Methodist Church. Member of the McDonough County Retired Teachers Association of which she served as the treasure for many years. In her spare time, Edna enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading, and, puzzles. Of all the accomplishments in her life, greatest joy to her was knowing the kids that she had taught and most of all, her family.

Alice Louise Flynn Mourning passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016, at 4:15 P.M. at Heartland Health Care Center In Macomb, Illinois.. Alice was born on April 28, 1926, She was the third daughter of George and Grace Rigg Carnahan of Fandon, Illinois.
She graduated from Colchester High School in 1943. She married J. Lester Flynn, October 2, 1944. They had three Children: Susan Beth, Stanley Lester and Sydney Jay. She graduated from Quincy Beauty Academy in 1959 and continued working as a hair dresser for the next 30 plus years. On May 20, 1999 she married Herschel Mourning. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Colchester for 80 years. Her hobbies were sewing and making noodles. She had retired to Texas then to Florida and then made her way back to Macomb.
Proceeding her in death were her parents George and Grace Carnahan, her husband J. Lester Flynn on July 15 1996 after 52 years of marriage, Sisters: Ann Nudd and Iris Martin, and Daughter In Law: Tena Flynn.
She is survived by her Daughter: Susan Lightle (Ken), Sons Stanley (Dianne) Flynn and Sydney Flynn. Nine Grandchildren: Matthew Flynn, Mark Flynn, Michael Flynn, Marshall Flynn, Mitchell Flynn, Scott Flynn, Stacy Flynn-Brenz, Kenneth Lightle III, Kandice Prillaman, Ten Great Grandchildren: Kylie Flynn, Abigail Flynn, Keegan Flynn, Cicely Flynn, Liam Flynn, Sara Flynn, Victoria Flynn, Kaylee Prillaman, Emma Prillaman, and Ryan Brenz. and several Nieces and Nephews. and her husband Herschel Mourning.
Celebration of Life Service will be, 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester, with Rev. Ken Worcester. She was born March 7, 1932 in Colchester, to Sam and Mae Hotten McGrann. Ann was united in marriage to Lindy R. Powell in Macomb on December 30, 1950, he preceded her in death on April 24, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 Son: Lindy Rex Powell Jr. and 1 Brother: Paul McGrann.

Ann had been a special education teacher in both the Dallas City and Northwestern School Districts. James Lynn Chance age 71 of Quincy, Illinois, formerly of Blandinsville, passed away, Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. He was born August 29, 1945 in Macomb to Carl and Veola McCullum Chance.
Surviving to mourn his passing are 2 Nieces: Debra DeCounter, Melanie Ball, 2 Nephews: Greg Chance, Mike Ball, 1 Sister In Law: Sara Chance, and several Great Nieces and Nephews.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, 1 Brother: Ronald Chance, 1 Sister: Karlean Ball, 1 Sister In Law: Janice Chance, and 1 Brother In Law: Jack Ball.
Lynn served his country in the United States Air Force for 1966 to 1970, he was stationed in Thailand for a period of time. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Blandinsville American Legion. He loved the time he spent with his friends playing cards and having a good time. He also farmed with his Dad.

Mark Hutchins - 575/8/1959 - 4/20/2017
Mark William Hutchins, 57, of Colchester passed away peacefully at 6:45 P.M. on April 20, 2017, in his home due to complications from ALS.
He was born May 8, 1959, to Kenneth and Doris (Rigg) Hutchins.
On February 22, 1997, he married the love of his life Cheryl K Walley. She survives.
Mark was a 1977 graduate of Macomb High School and worked at NTN Bower until his retirement. Before ALS he was an avid gardener and woodworker. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Denver Broncos fan.
Also surviving are his two step children, Sarah (Paul) Nelson of Colchester, IL, Seth (Melissa) Sappington of Plymouth, IL, one brother, Michael (Barbara) Hutchins of PlantCity, FL, a sister-in-law, Connie Hutchins of Macomb, IL, his father-in-law John Walley; sister-in-law Polly (Mark) Buddemeyer of Newburgh, IN; brother-in-law, Tom (Melissa) Walley of Fulton, MO. Two aunts, Patricia Ward of Macomb, IL and Linda (Cap) Spangler of Bushnell, IL; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mark’s favorite role was Papa Bear to Donovan and Jonothan Nelson, Lyndee, Norma and Cody Sappington, his adopted granddaughter Joslyn Hilton and his therapy dog, Maizy Grace.
Preceding him in death were his mother and father, his grandparents Pat and Irene Hutchins and Eldon and Marie Rigg, his brother Mitchell Hutchins, his uncle George Ward and aunt Pattie Swanson, mother-in-law, Norma Walley, sister-in-law Barbara Roskamp and brother-in-law David Roskamp.
Graveside services at will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Mt Auburn Cemetery in Colchester with Pastor Jim Richardson.
