Jurl R. Southerland

Jurl R. Southerland age 84 of Littleton, Illinois, with his family at his side, went to be with his Lord, on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at his home in Littleton. He was born August 29, 1933, in Healdton, Oklahoma, to Fred and Myrtle Heath Southerland. Jurl was united in marriage on April 11, 1958, in Yuma, Arizona, to Peggy Barrett.
Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of 60 years Peggy Southerland, 2 Sons: Jurl (Nell) Southerland, Tim (Marketa) Southerland, 1 Daughter: Sandy Logsdon, 7 Grandchildren: Dowell Southerland, James (Jordan) Southerland, Andrew (Ellie) Southerland, Michael Southerland, Cole (Heather) Logsdon, Sarah (Brett) Burton, Erin Logsdon, 4 Great Grandchildren: Sophia Southerland, Elise Southerland, Wyatt Logsdon and Miles Gene Burton.
Jurl was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Brothers, 4 Sisters, 1 Grandson: Tyler Martin and 1 Son-In-Law: Troy Logsdon.
Jurl had been a foreman for 2 construction companies, out of Springfield and Jacksonville. In his early years living in Arizona, he was a Golden Glove of Arizona. Jurl was a member of the Schuyler County Coon Hunters Club, Industry Assembly of God Church where he served in many ways at the church. Jacksonville Local 477 Labors Union. Jurl loved being outdoors but most of all he loved the time he spent with his family.
Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at the Industry Assembly of God Church, with Tim Southerland and Pastor Jon Keck. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Private family graveside services will be held at Blackburn Cemetery at a later date. In Leu of flowers the family would ask you give to McDonough District Hospital Hospice or Industry Assembly of God World Missions.
