Helen B. Cordell

Helen B. Cordell, age 93 of Macomb, formerly of Colchester, passed away February 27, 2016, at O.S.F. in Peoria, Illinois. She was born October 18, 1922, in Novinger, Missouri, to Frank and Lucy Donnelly Beck. Helen married Carroll DeVere Danner in Arlington, Virginia on October 28, 1944, he preceded her in death on January 2, 1961. She later married James W. Cordell, in Macomb, Illinois on April 14, 1961, he preceded her in death on August 30, 2010.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 4 Brothers: Henry S. Beck, Frank Beck Jr., Harold Beck, Robert Beck, 2 Sisters: Virginia Murphy, and Ina Reynolds.
Surviving to mourn her passing are 1 Daughter Lucinda (Grant) Gainey, Cary, North Carolina, 2 Grandchildren: Ryan and Bridget.
Helen was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Macomb, McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Macomb with Rev. Mike Thomas. The family will meet with friends following the service in the church Narthex. Private internment will be held at a later date at Gibson Cemetery, Fandon and Astoria Cemetery, Astoria.
