Carol Elizabeth Beckerdite age 78 of Colchester, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb. She was born March 26, 1940, in Macomb, to Charles F. and Helen Louise Carter Hoelscher. Carol was united in marriage in Augusta, Illinois, on August 16, 1959, to Chester “Kay” Beckerdite.
Surviving to mourn her passing are her husband of 59 years, Kay Beckerdite, 2 Daughters: Debra (Dana) Bainter, Colchester, Susan Silva, Colchester, 6 Grandchildren: Bryan (Stephanie) Chenoweth, Brooks (Molly) Bainter, Blake (Jessica) Chenoweth, Amanda (Emmett) Hall, Clint (Lauren) Bainter, Brandi Chenoweth, 10 Great Grandchildren: Aubrey Bainter, Dana Kane, Hallie Kane, Benson Bainter, Brady Bainter, Charlee Kane, Tucker Chenoweth, Ezra Chenoweth, Ezekiel Chenoweth, Grayson Hall, and one very special Cousin: Marlin (Penny) McCutchan, Denver, Colorado.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and 1 Son in Law: Ralph Silva.
Carol had worked as the bookkeeper for Wick Homes by Jim Cale in Colchester, an Accountant for the Macomb Journal, Bookkeeper at Hunt Appliance, Colchester and Co owner of C.C. Chuck wagon food service. She was a member of the Leap formerly the Colchester first Christian Church, she was very active in the church, she helped take care of many funeral dinners the church provided. She had been a Girl Scout Leader in Colchester, loved playing cards and sending cards to people for encouragement. Carol loved to cook and teach her grandchildren to cook. She enjoyed every moment she spent with her family. Carols greatest love of all was her Grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, March 7, 2019, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester with Pastor Doug Gorman and Rev. Blake Chenoweth. Graveside services will be 2:30 P.M. Thursday at Brooklyn Cemetery in Brooklyn, Illinois. Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday. Memorials are to the Leap or the Elms Activity Fund.
