`Antoinetta (Toni) Schwanke age 69 of Macomb, formerly of Tennessee, Illinois, passed away at 5:20 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb. She was born April 1, 1947 in Colchester to Jesse W. and Inza B. Reno Wayland. She was united in marriage on October 8, 1994, in South Moline Township to Dennis A. Schwanke, he preceded her in death May 20, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 Brothers: James and Douglas Wayland and 1 Sister: Lila Alton.
Surviving to mourn her passing are 1 Son: Jeffrey ( Brandi ) Schwanke, Coal Valley, Illinois, 2 Daughters: Dawn (Troy ) Tatro, Monmouth, Illinois, Cynthia Nelson, Tennessee, Illinois, 7 Grandchildren: Jeffrey Schwanke, Jr., Seth Schwanke, Rachel Bishop, Chad Craig, Cory Craig, Paige Nelson, Ericka McGovern, 1 Great Granddaughter: Alexandria McGovern, 6 Brothers: Richard Wayland, Colchester, Jesse (Carole) Wayland, Monmouth, Jack (Sherry) Wayland, Macomb, Joseph (Marsha) Wayland, Florida, 7 Sisters: Nedra Amerine, Macomb, Jacquline A. Groves, Oregon, Especia (Gaylord) Mason, Colchester, Alma Feathers, Colchester, Darlyne (Charles) Ackers, Avon, and Lyn (Richard) Newberry, Weaver, Iowa.
Toni was a member of the American Legion Aux. and V.F.W. Aux. both of Macomb. She had been the Administrator of the LaHarpe Davier Nursing home in LaHarpe, Illinois and employed at G & M Mechanical in Macomb. She is a graduate of Western Illinois University with a Masters Degree. She enjoyed the time spent with her friends at Grand Prairie playing Yatzee and visiting. She loved being with Family Fishing, Hunting, Mushrooming, spending time out doors. She also loved to cook for all her friends and family, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at the Jones Mortuary with Rev. Bruce Goettsche. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Private family services will be held at Memorial Park Mausoleum, Rock Island, Illinois. The family would like to invite friends and family to the Macomb V.F.W. following the services on Wednesday for a luncheon. Memorials are to Colchester Veterans Memorial, American Heart, American Cancer. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 1:00 P.M. Tuesday.
